J. Richard Saas is a founding partner of Tenenbaum & Saas.  Prior to the formation of Tenenbaum & Saas in early 1996, he was a partner at the law firm of Sherman, Meehan & Curtin in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Saas also previously served as general counsel to South Charles Realty Corporation and assistant general counsel and real estate counsel to Maryland National Corporation and subsequently NationsBank Corporation where he was involved in the work-out and disposition of in excess of one billion dollars of foreclosed real estate assets.  Mr. Saas also has several years experience as an associate in the real estate department of Smith, Somerville & Case, a Baltimore based law firm.  Mr. Saas received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1987 and is a member of the Maryland Bar.

Mr. Saas represents a variety of clients in a diverse array of real estate, finance and business transactions.  His clients range from small developers and financiers to large publicly traded developers, lenders and equity investors in all forms and complexities of transactions.

Mr. Saas formed Tenenbaum & Saas with partner Mark Tenenbaum in the hopes of creating a business oriented firm which would not only be responsive to the legal needs of complex transactional work on behalf of its clients, but also, with both founding partners having had significant in-house experience, mindful of the business goals, needs and realities of its clients which are often lacking in many law firms.
